ROAD TO BIRMINGHAM GETS UNDERWAY
ENG Sports UK love to challenge teams and athletes. The only way to grow as an athlete is to push yourself as much as you can and embrace new environments which help your growth and learning.
This 2021/22 netball season we're offering netballers across the country the chance to embrace a challenge never seen before in the youth netball world. Through our competition based workshop programme we will be offering competing athletes the chance to access high level competition, but also reward them with an opportunity to win a VIP trip to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
This incentive will help netballers stay more motivated while playing their netball, but also allow them to develop their games away from their clubs and enjoy events that are unique and more rewarding than the normal events and leagues they compete in.
We've just conducted our first set of workshops this October half term just gone and three teams already have taken the first step on the Road to Birmingham. In the South workshop ENG Heat won 37-20 against ENG Magic. The Midlands event we were treated to a incredible game which was a tie after full time. In extra time ENG Thunder managed to get the narrow win 32-30. Our final workshop saw a one sided victory for ENG Mavericks who took the crown as our London champions.
These teams and players will now look forward to competing in the Gold Cup National Finals on June 25th in Walsall. The winning team of this national event will then proceed to the All Star National Finals for the chance to win the ultimate prize of a VIP trip to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Our next set of workshops will commence on December 20th & 21st.
