Conquerors Sargon capped off an incredible 2025 for the Essex-based club as they won the club's second Netball Cup Nationals. Back in June, Conquerors Amazon won the U14 Finals, and their U16 defeated Sutton Town in the final to land ENG another title.
Conquerors Sargon started the group stages with a draw with Herts Dynamos, who they beat in the final of our Eastern event back in November. Their next challenge was against Yorkshire powerhouse Leeds Athletic, and the game lived up to expectations. With the game tied, both teams had a chance to win, but with seconds to go, an incredible feed into the shooting circle allowed the Conquerors' shooter to win and secure their first win.
After their narrow victory over Leeds Athletic, Conquerors performance in the groups went from strength to strength. A massive 13-1 win against Lincoln, a 10-4 win against Trafford Juniors, and an impressive 11-7 victory over Sutton Town meant they finished the group on top and qualified for the quarter-finals.
In the quarter-finals, they played New Life, which could have been a potential upset given New Life's superb performances up to this point, but any fears of a David-versus-Goliath outcome were soon put to rest after Conqueeors swept aside the London debutants and won 25-1.
In the semi-finals, Conquerors played Trafford Juniors. Earlier in the tournament, Conquerors recorded an impressive victory over Trafford Juniors, and they repeated the feat with another superb performance, winning 11-1 and setting up a final with Sutton Town.
The final was set to be a blockbuster with Sutton Town looking to create a historic outcome by winning back-to-back U16 Netball Cup titles. The game started close, with both sides not giving an inch, and halfway through, Conquerors were ahead by one point. In the second half, Conquerors stepped up the pace and didn't allow Sutton Town to build attacks under the intense pressure of their marking. This allows their attack to score and put the game beyond Sutton Town. To cap off the win, Conquerors sank a two-point shot, securing their second ENG Netball Cup National title.
This win also won Conquerors Sargon a trip to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, which includes accommodation, a celebratory meal, and tickets to watch a game.
